Parts of the communities of Rhoshirwaun, Llanfaelrhys, Anelog, Uwchmynydd are poorly connected. The map below shows the properties that are currently not part of any rollout plan to get superfast broadband connected in the next 2 – 3 yrs. According to most recently available Welsh Government data all the properties that are marked with a red dot will not get superfast broadband before 2023 at the earliest.
The data that the map is based on is not entirely accurate so; if your property isn’t marked here, if it isn’t showing as a red dot on the map or isn’t listed below, this doesn’t mean that you cannot support and join in a community based tender to go out to network providers for superfast broadband services to be installed in your home or business. If your property currently experiences low internet connection speeds of less than 20Mbps and is adjacent to or nearby highlighted properties (You can check your connection speed here.) please register your interest.
To register your interest in getting Superfast Services to your home please fill in the form below.

The proposal is for there to be a network hub installed at Neuadd Rhiw which would then be the source of a wireless network to each property that subscribed to the tender. This service would be backed up by a seperate Network Hub on y Cilan which would serve Ynys Enlli but would be able to provide back up in the event that data services at Rhiw went down.
The selected network provider would need to survey each property in order to ensure that they could receive superfast broadband wirelessly. Each property would need to have an external receiver and some properties an additional item of equipment called a Bridge fitted to the exterior. These units are approximately 20cm in size and would – dependent on usage – use around £30 of electricity per annum,

Affected Properties
This list was prepared manually using Welsh Government data 2019. The data isn’t entirely accurate which means that some of the properties listed below may already have access to superfast broad, other properties nearby that have not been listed may be affected. If your property isn’t listed and want to confirm whether your property can already be connected to Superfast go here
Let’s say that you live at Cae Hen, Uwchmynydd, LL53 8BY, enter your full postcode in the search area on section 2, once you have done this, check the box next to it on the result below and then select the drop down on the right. This will display all properties listed against this postcode. Select your property. If your property isn’t part of the phase 2a rollout to extend superfast Broadband this will be confirmed with a prompt to look at other options. The Connected Communities project is one of these options
